We love reading about super foods and all of the different benefits you can get from eating them. A simple google search of ‘super foods’ will bring up about a zillion different foods and approaches to fitting them in to your daily regime. Today we share our paleo super food smoothie… a simple way to get loads of super foods into your day!
Our top five super foods are:
raw cacao powder: our all time favourite ingredient! Why? Because it’s super…and it tastes like chocolate. This super food is jam packed with antioxidants and magnesium that help keep you energised, healthy and happy. Did we mention it tastes like chocolate?!
cinnamon: our second favourite ingredient…it makes everything taste ten times better (our mantra with cinnamon is the more the merrier!) Not only does it taste amazing, it can help lower cholesterol, regulate blood sugars and it even boosts brain function…so many reasons to add it to everything.
chia seeds: these little specks are the richest plant based source of Omega 3, dietary fibre, protein and antioxidants (TICK!) Just one serving a day (about a tbs.) can assist with weight management, heart health and healthy skin, nails and hair! Super food…we think yes!
coconut oil: there’s actually too many things to list for this super dooper food. We don’t use any other oil, whether it’s ‘for the pan’ or in our sweet treats. It stops sugar cravings, supports your immunity and you can even apply directly to your skin as a moisturiser. Find our more here. We seriously can’t get enough of this oil!
berries: blueberries, strawberries, acai berries, goji berries, raspberries…what ever floats your boat! Berries are packed full of antioxidants and vitamin C. Plus they make everything go a pretty colour and they taste amazing!
