People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that’s what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life. Elizabeth Gilbert. Eat, Pray, Love.
Earlier this week we spoke about self love. Learning to love yourself first before anyone else. The benefits? MANY! When you love yourself you might find that you end up taking better care of yourself, you eat the right foods, drink lots of water, exercise more. It’s just better for your wellbeing. You are more compassionate towards others and when you see how beautiful you are within, this shines out of your face like a pretty sun beam… plus when you feel joyful and happy, you lift up others to the same level. See, self love rocks.
But it’s Valentines Day next week, the one day a year that celebrates love. AKA the one day a year your Facebook feed fills up with posts of roses, chocolates, gifts and dinners for two from the lucky in love-d up couples. Don’t get us wrong… we love love! But we’re both on the single road (and loving it) and we’re not missing the opportunity to celebrate the greatest love of all. Self love!
Instead of dinner for two, we have planned an epic wellbeing night of self loving indulgence. We could be cliché and call it a ‘girls night in’! If you’re single too we highly recommend gathering your other single friends and spending some quality time working on YOU. Making yourself happy and doing things that you love. This is what we’ve got on the agenda and the menu is going to be all kinds of delish with: paleo crackers + beetroot dip (you can get these recipes in our new eBook), zucchini + bacon bites, paleo nachos and for dessert? Our brand new paleo caramel mud cake!
Are you planning a girls night in? We’d love to hear your plans, just leave us a comment below!
Always merrymaking,
Emma + Carla
