This paleo date caramel apple slice recipe is really quite similar… alright it’s almost exactly the same… we just added grated apple (hahaha). But it deserves a whole new recipe post! Also, you might not have even seen the original, it’s a pretty old recipe.

We thought we didn’t like Christmas fruit pudding… then we tried this recipe and O M G it is oh so drool-worthy delicious.

Date caramel apple slice
STUFF YOU NEED
- 2 cups almond meal
- 1 cup chopped dates
- 1 cup chopped cashews or any nuts you like
- 125 g butter or coconut oil
- 1/3 cup coconut sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 apple, grated
- Preheat oven to 180°c or 350°F and line a 20cm x 20cm slice tin.
- In a saucepan melt the butter and sugar together, allow this to cool (make sure it is not too hot before you add the egg or it may scramble).
- Add the egg, dates, cashews, apple and almond meal, mix until well combined.
- Press the mixture into the prepared tin and bake for 20-25 minutes.
- Allow the slice to cool in the tin and cut into squares.
- Enjoy! You can store left overs (if there are any) in an airtight container.
