We’re now just past the halfway point of our 2025 MerryBody Yoga Teacher Training (we can not believe it!), and we just finished the Chakra component. Every time we guide our students through this part of the training, it brings up the most amazing conversations and insights.
And you know what keeps coming up?
When we ask which Chakra feels most out of balance, almost everyone says: Solar Plexus.
It’s the one people say they struggle with most. It’s that feeling of not being enough. Not trusting yourself. Not following through. Not knowing how to act on your wants/passions/goals/whatever you want to call them!

So, What Is the Solar Plexus Chakra?
In Yoga and energy work, we talk about 7 main Chakras, energy centres that affect how you feel physically, emotionally and spiritually.
The Solar Plexus Chakra (or Manipura, in Sanskrit) is Chakra number three. It resides just above your belly button and is all about confidence, motivation, purpose and personal power.
It’s your inner fire, your will power… the part of you that says:
“I can.”
“I will.”
How to Know if Your Solar Plexus is Balanced (or Not)
When your Solar Plexus is in flow, you:

Trust your gut (literally and energetically)

Take action without second-guessing everything

Set boundaries with love and clarity

Feel focused and full of energy

Know your worth
But when it’s out of whack, you might feel:

Stuck or unsure of yourself

Super tired or unmotivated

Like you’re constantly people-pleasing

Lost in overthinking and indecision

A bit “blah” about everything
Too much Solar Plexus energy can also lead to things like perfectionism or control issues.
Easy Ways to Support Your Solar Plexus Chakra
You don’t need a full Chakra overhaul, just a few little shifts can help you feel more energised, more clear… and most importantly, more you.
Move Your Body (Especially Your Core)
